A SIEM can detect nothing useful if telemetry is missing, identifiers do not line up or rules drown analysts in noise. Collection is not understanding. The engineering work lies in normalization, correlation, detection logic and an operational response path.

A warehouse full of clues is valuable only if somebody can reconstruct the incident.
