Resend is a transactional email API reached as an external API: the application calls Resend over HTTP to send emails, with no SMTP server to manage.

Resend is a transactional email API reached as an external API: the application calls Resend over HTTP to send emails, with no SMTP server to manage.

It sends the emails that an application triggers (welcome emails, password resets, notifications, receipts) through a REST API or an SDK, and it supports React Email templates, which turn JSX into HTML emails. A Vercel Function or a backend calls resend.emails.send(), and Resend handles delivery, DKIM, SPF and bounce tracking.

It is an alternative to SendGrid, Mailgun and AWS SES, with a developer-first API and the React Email integration. It is meant for transactional (event-triggered) email; bulk email such as newsletters and marketing belongs to a different tool.
