web dev//npx

npx is the Node.js package runner: it executes packages from the npm registry without installing them globally. If the package is already installed locally (in `node_modules/`), npx uses that copy; if not, it downloads it temporarily, runs it and discards it.

npx is the Node.js package runner: it executes packages from the npm registry without installing them globally. If the package is already installed locally (in node_modules/), npx uses that copy; if not, it downloads it temporarily, runs it and discards it.

It comes bundled with npm (which comes with Node.js), so it needs no separate installation. Its typical use is running framework CLIs (npx create-react-app, npx vite, npx wrangler) or one-off tools without polluting the global system: npx wrangler dev runs wrangler directly, with no npm install -g wrangler first.
