security//cryptography
Cryptography is the discipline that secures information through mathematical primitives (signing, verification and hashing), and in a blockchain those primitives are what make the system trustless. Key pairs are generated entirely off-chain, with no connection to the blockchain, and the probability that two keys collide is astronomically low in a keyspace of \(2^{256}\).

The private key is the master secret, because everything else (the public key, the address) derives from it, a one-way chain from private key to public key to address (key pair) on which all blockchain identity rests.
