From systems to bits and back.
I build systems and study how they fail. This site is my proof of work. For the things that refuse to stay in one discipline, from control loops to brains.
Four ways in. Follow a concept: How systems respond to themselves (why the sign of a feedback loop never decides its stability alone). Read an argument: The years we thought we had. Explore an experiment: Forecasting visual auras. Understand a mechanism: How LLMs learn.
Three shelves, sorted by what each piece does. Projects: things I build, told as they actually happened, dead ends included. Essays: takes and the odd rant about ideas that won't sit still. Bits2Bricks: subjects I needed to understand, explained the way I wish someone had explained them to me, one topic at a time, taken apart until it clicks.
Field of view. The subjects the work keeps returning to, with the evidence behind each one: a map of the published work by domain, placed by coverage and by practical emphasis.
Selected work. Ideas in public: pieces of several forms that belong to one body of work. TrialGPT: from a medical report to a shortlist of eligible trials; Model-based fault detection in a two-tank system; A CRM for a health-tech startup, built solo in 72 hours; How InfraPhysics is built: a site with no server, organised around its wiki.
The notes underneath. 1557 notes, one graph. Everything the essays and projects stand on, written down once and linked to everything it touches. Largest domains: ML, mathematics, control, web dev, industrial, infrastructure, hardware, robotics.
InfraPhysics is the public bench of Yago Mendoza: what he built, and the notes he wrote while figuring it out.
Off the main line: Mandarin (https://infraphysics.net/side-quests/chinese), and Lobeworks/17, on how the brain learns (https://infraphysics.net/lobeworks-17).
